The service

ObitWriter.Memorial provides obituary drafting and publishing, free of charge, to funeral homes. “Free” means free: unlimited obituaries, no per-case fees, no time limit. Obituaries created while the service operates will not later be moved behind a paywall.

Your responsibilities

Funeral homes are responsible for the accuracy of the information they enter and for reviewing every draft before publication — the writer uses only the facts provided, and final editorial judgment is always yours. Published pages must not contain unlawful or abusive content.

Obituaries belong to the funeral home and the family it serves. See our Privacy Policy.

Service quality

We work hard to keep the service available around funeral schedules, but it is provided “as is,” without warranty. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us — which is zero. We recommend keeping your own copy of any obituary you submit to a newspaper.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to account holders by email.
